Note
• When attaching the CCD onto the sensor holder, align
the notch on the CCD with the projected part of the
sensor holder. Also align the projected part when at-
taching the sensor holder onto the lens ass'y. The low
pass filter should be attached with the specific orien-
tation; attach it correctly by referring to the disas-
sembly diagram on page 4-1.
1.6 REPLACING THE CCD IMAGE SENSOR
1.6.1
Removal
(1) Follow (1) to (5) in 1.5.
1.6.2
Attaching
(1) Attach parts by reversing the removal procedures.
Note:
• The image sensor is interchangeable only with a speci-
fied image sensor.
• New image sensors and crystal filters should be han-
dled so as not to leave fingerprints or grease on their
glass surfaces.
To remove attached dirt or grease blow on the glass
surface until it becomes misted then wipe it gently
with a cotton swab. (Do not use alcohol or other simi-
lar substances.)
• After replacement, all of the adjustments should be
performed from the beginning.
• Note that the image sensor is susceptible to static
damage. Be sure to take anti-static measures before
replacing it.
• After an image sensor has been removed, an electri-
cal charge may remain on the terminals of the cam-
era circuit for a certain period of time.
if a new image sensor is inserted into the socket in
this condition, the image sensor may b instantly dam-
aged by the remaining electric charge. To prevent this
happening, wait a while (2 to 3 minutes) after remov-
ing an image sensor until inserting another one in
the socket.
• After the CCD board has been removed from the lens
assembly, the back-focus adjustment should be per-
formed again.
