4 Electrical connection
4.1 Installation notes
a
The choice of cable, the installation and the electrical connection of
the module must meet the requirements of VDE 0100 “Regulations on
the Installation of Power Circuits with nominal voltages below 1000V”
or the appropriate local regulations.
a
Work on the module must only be carried out to the extent described
and, like the electrical connection, only by properly qualified personnel.
a
Isolate the module on line and neutral from the supply if there may be
contact with live parts during work.
a
The external fuse of the supply should not be rated above 10A (slow).
The load circuit should be fused for the maximum relay current in or-
der to prevent welding of the output relay contacts in the event of an
external short-circuit.
a
Electromagnetic compatibility conforms to the Standards and Regu-
lations specified under Technical Data.
v
Data Sheet 70.4015 “Technical data”
a
The module is not suitable for installation in hazardous areas.
a
Input, output and supply lines should run separately and not parallel
to each other.
a
Interface lines should be screened and twisted together. Do not run
them close to current-carrying components or cables.
The screen of the LON interface has to be grounded at both ends to
TE (at each module).
a
If there is no technical earth in the installation, connect terminal TE on
the module to the protective earth (PE).
a
Do not loop the earth connections, i.e. do not run them from one mo-
dule to another; run them singly, e.g. to earth terminals on the rail
(short leads!).
