Stopping the engine
In an emergency, push the engine switch to OFF to stop the engine. Follow the instructions below to stop
the engine as normal.
1.
Move the throttle lever as far right as possible.
2.
Push the engine switch to OFF.
3.
Close the fuel cock (position OFF).
IMPORTANT!
Do not stop the engine when it is running at high speed or working under pressure – this can damage the
engine.
Exhaust emission control system
When the engine is running it emits carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons. Carbon
monoxide is toxic and, in some conditions, nitrogen oxides react with hydrocarbons to produce smoke.
The exhaust emission control is therefore very important. We have solved this problem by reducing
exhaust emissions with a fuel-efficient carburettor and other engine technology. Pay attention to the
following to keep engine exhaust emissions within the applicable standard.
Maintenance
Carry out engine maintenance regularly in accordance with the maintenance schedule in these Operating
Instructions. The maintenance schedule is adapted to normal operating conditions. Maintenance must be
carried out more frequently if the engine is used for high loads, in dusty or wet conditions, or at high
temperatures.
Replacing parts
We recommend that you only use original spare parts, or parts of similar quality. The use of inferior
quality spare parts can reduce the efficiency of the exhaust emission control system.
Modification
Modifications to the exhaust emission control system can cause emissions to exceed the permitted level.
It is illegal to implement the following:
A.
Dismantle or modify any part of the air intake or exhaust system.
B.
Modify or disconnect the speed regulator, so that the engine runs outside the design parameters.
Problems concerning exhaust emission control
A.
Difficulties starting or stopping the engine.
B.
Irregular idling speed.
C.
Black exhaust fumes, or excessively high fuel consumption.
D.
Poor ignition or backfiring.
Contact your dealer in the event of such problems.
