INSPECTION (BY SERVICE PERSONNEL)
The following inspections must be carried out by service personnel at the specified intervals:
Normal operation:
Every year
Heavy operation:
Every six months
Extreme operation:
Every three months
Check:
That the brake pads have not hardened.
That there is no oil on the friction parts on the brake.
That the catch (33 in exploded view) is intact.
That the catch spring (32 in exploded view) is intact.
That the lifting hooks are not worn.
That none of the lifting hooks are distorted by more than 10°.
That there are no cracks in the lifting hooks. Use magnetic detection.
That the suspension for the hook is flexible, not locked or fixed.
That there is no abnormal wear. Applies to all component parts.
That the gear wheel is not cracked.
That the gears are intact.
That the gear wheels are lubricated.
That there are no cracks. Applies to all component parts.
That none of the parts are deformed.
That all screw/bolt connections are tightened.
That all warning labels are intact.
CHECKING THE LIFTING HOOK
Opening
The lifting hook must be replaced when the gap (g) in the figure has
increased by 5% from when the hook was new. The gap must not
be measured to the catch, but between the metal surfaces on the
hook.
The limiting values are presented in the table below.

Suspension
The hook must be replaced when the suspension bearing is worn to such an extent that the gap between
the bottom of the hook and the bearing has increased by 10%.
Distortion
The hook must be replaced when it has become distorted by more than 10°.
