Press the READ/CON button to turn on the
laser beam. The laser indicator flashes (fig.
20).
4. Aim the laser beam at measurement
object B.

Press the READ/CON button to display the
measured distance on the character
display’s first row (fig. 21).

The line for the
section AC that is to
be measured will now flash.
7.
Aim the laser beam at right angles to
measurement object C, without moving the
tool’s measurement reference point from A.
8.
Press the READ/CON button again to
display the calculated distance BC on the
character display’s bottom row and the
distance AC on the character display’s
second row (fig. 22).
9.
Press the READ/CON button again to
perform a new measurement.
NOTE:
Section AC must be shorter than the
hypotenuse AB; otherwise Err008 will be
displayed and you will have to remeasure
section AC.
Make sure that both measurements are
taken from the same reference point (A).
The second measurement, to point C, must
be at right angles to the first. Otherwise, the
calculated distance will not be correct.
Double trigonometric measurement
Double trigonometric measurement is used when
one end of the section to be measured is higher
than the reference point, and the other end of the
same section is situated lower than the reference
point.
In the illustrated example (fig. 23), the section BC
is to be determined. A is the reference point. To
do this, measure the sections AB, AO and AC. AO
and BC must be at 90° to each other.
