OPERATION
This is a precision instrument. Follow these instructions for optimum performance.
Do not aim the tool at the sun or other strong light sources. This can cause an error indication or an
incorrect measurement result.
Do not use the tool for levelling.
Do not use the tool in wet, damp, dusty or sandy environments, or under other unfavourable
conditions. Such conditions can damage internal components and impair measurement accuracy.
Before using the tool, allow it to adopt the ambient temperature if it is moved from a warm to a cold
area or vice versa.
Measurement errors can occur when measuring against colourless liquids (e.g. water), clear glass,
Styropor or other materials that are transparent or have a low density.
Very shiny surfaces reflect the laser beam and cause measurement errors.
Very strong ambient light, together with very weakly reflecting surfaces, result in reduced
measurement range and accuracy.
Do not immerse the tool in water. Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use aggressive
detergents. Treat optical surfaces with cleaning methods designed for spectacles or camera
lenses.
Check the accuracy of the tool before use if it has been dropped or exposed to some other
mechanical load.
Inserting the batteries (fig. 3)
The tool requires four AAA batteries (not
included).
1.
Undo the screw and remove the battery
cover.
2.
Insert four new, alkaline AAA batteries. Note
correct polarity.
3.
Refit the cover and tighten the screws.
NOTE!
Replace the batteries when the battery indicator shows that the batteries are spent.
Remove the batteries from the tool when it is not going to be used for some time.
All the batteries must be of the same brand and type.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Remove spent batteries from the tool as soon as possible. Dispose of the batteries in accordance
with local regulations. Batteries must not be burned.
Turning on and off
1.
Press the power switch
to turn the tool on. The tool is always started up in the single distance
measurement mode.
2.
Press and hold the power switch for approximately 2 seconds to turn the tool off.
3.
The tool switches off automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity.
Use
Hold the tool at the point from which you wish to measure. By default, the rear edge of the tool is used as
the measurement reference point
. Switch to the required measurement reference point by pressing
the measurement reference point button.
Switching measurement reference point
Every time you press the button, the set measurement reference point switches
between the rear
edge of the tool, the position of the tripod thread, the front edge of the tool and the positioning pin.
When the tool is turned on, the set measurement reference point is always the rear edge of the tool.
