The knife sharpness is most rigorously influenced by the blade tip shape
of the counter knife
.
In many cases, the sharpness is improved by blade sharpening of the
counter knife
.
(Cautions) It is important that the blade surface of the counter
knife
keeps contact with the blade area of the moving
knife
.
[Method of adjustment]
Step 1: Sharpen Face A. (Pay attention to the angle.)
Step 2 : Even when the tip of Face B is abraded and round, the
sharpness must have got worse. Make sure not to change the
angle during sharpening.
(For reference) 1. To obtain a good blade touch between the moving
knife
and the counter knife
, it is effective to
change the angle in the direction of the arrow, as
illustrated.
2. If the D side does not cut well, decrease this angle.
If the C side does not cut well, increase this angle.
o If the sharpness is still not good
even though the blade face has
been sharpened sufficiently, this is
because there is no simultaneous
contact on the right and left of the
blade faces between the moving
knife
and the counter knife
.
In such a case, adjust the gradi-
ent of the counter knife
.
