APPLICATION AND LIMITATIONS
APPLICATION
These anchorage slings are for use as mobile anchorage points and form part of a work restraint/positioning or fall arrest
system. It is often advantageous to use slings in areas where there are horizontal beams or pipes or other structures (of
sufficient strength and integrity) where they can be looped and used as an anchor point. Follow step 1 to step 3.
Step 1:
Identify a beam or similar horizontal structure strong enough, will not deflect and known to have a strength of
greater than 12 kN. If in doubt DO NOT USE.
Step 2:
Loop the anchorage sling around the beam as shown in figure below. Use connectors if required. Ensure that the
connector is locked tightly.
Step 3:
The hanging connector can now be used as an anchorage point. You can either attach a retractable fall arrestor
as per EN 360, an anchorage line of a guided type fall arrestor as per EN 353-2 or the anchorage hook of the lanyard
into this point.
NB: the anchorage sling must be used for fall protection equipment and not for lifting equipment or persons.
