7.3.1.2 DESCRIPTION
EM PA messages are always broadcast to all zones/areas in the system.
EM PA is initiated from the 1601, 1605, 1606, 1643 access panels, by means of the EM PA button. This button is distinguished
by a red colour.
To avoid unintentional use, the EM PA button must be continuously activated (pressed) for one second to activate. The but-
ton must remain activated (pressed) for the duration of the message. The EM PA is terminated when the button is released.
The EMPA is announced with a distinct attention tone. This tone is different from the tone used with normal paging.
During EM PA the individual zone buttons are disabled, and will not affect the EM PA.

In case the General Alarm is initiated during the EMPA broadcast, the broadcast will not be interrupted, and the alarm will
start once the EMPA broadcast is concluded.
The 1601/1605/1606/1643 access panels have integrated mute relays that is activated during EMPA messages from that
access panel. Local speakers may be routed through this relay to avoid feedback.
The configured priority rules define if it is possible for the access panel to initiate emergency paging. If a higher priority access
panel is currently engaged in an emergency paging, the EMPA-button indicator will be lit red, indicating that no EMPA is
possible from this access panel.
