DESCRIPTION
The GRYPHON™ Anchor with PROKNOT™
Technology consists of a suture anchor pre-loaded
with a suture construct on a disposable inserter
assembly. The suture construct consists of a doubled-
over strand of #1 PERMACORD™ Suture with a
pre-tied sliding knot; the end of one tail is encased
inside the end of the other tail. The implants are
intended for fixation of suture to bone.
MATERIALS
Handle: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)
Suture Card: Polycarbonate
Anchor: Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or BIOCRYL
®
RAPIDE™ (BR) which is a composite made of
absorbable Poly (lactide-coglycolide) polymer (PLGA)
and Tricalcium phosphate (TCP)
Shaft: Stainless steel
Suture: PERMACORD Blue Braided Polyethylene
Surgical Suture is a non-absorbable, sterile surgical
suture composed of dyed ultra high molecular weight
polyethylene. The blue colorant is Chromium-Cobalt-
Aluminum Oxide with a concentration not to exceed
2.0% by weight.
INDICATIONS
The GRYPHON Anchor with PROKNOT Technology
is intended for:
• Shoulder: Bankart Repair, SLAP Lesion Repair,
Capsular Shift or Capsulolabral Reconstruction
• Hip: Capsular Repair, Acetabular Labral Repair.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Procedures other than those listed in the
INDICATIONS section
•
Pathologic conditions of bone such as cystic
changes or severe osteopenia that would impair
secure fixation of the anchor
