Extraction (Ducted)
T he cooker hood is more e ff ecti v e w hen installed in the
e x traction mode ( ducted to the outside ).
V entin g kits ma y be p urchased throu g h y our retailer or
DI Y store , and must be e v acuated throu g h an outside
v ent o f ø125 (5 ins ) or ø15 0mm ( 6ins ).
T he ductin g used must be manu f actured f rom f ire
retardent material con f ormin g to the rele v ant British
S tandard or DI N 4 1 0 2 -B 1.
When the cooker hood is ducted to the outside
the charcoal filter must be removed.
Fitting the Ducting
• F it the ø15 0mm ( 6ins ) ductin g to the s p i g ot on to p o f
the hood bod y as illustrated .
• W hen usin g ø125 mm (5 ins ) ductin g f it

• F or the best p er f ormance use the shortest p ossible run
o f ductin g and w e recommend the use o f ri g id p i p e in
p re f erence to f le x ible hose as this w ill im p ro v e the f lo w
o f air w hile reducin g turbulence , w hich causes noise and
a loss o f p er f ormance .
• I f the room w here the cooker hood is to be used contains
a f uel burnin g a pp liance such as a central heatin g boiler ,
then its f lue must be be o f the room sealed or balanced
f lue t yp e .
• I f other t yp es o f f lue or a pp liances are f itted ensure that
there is an ade q uate su pp l y o f air to the room .
• T he cooker ductin g w hen f itted in the e x traction mode
must ne v er be connected to central heatin g f lues , radiators
or w ater heaters .
Recirculation Mode
T he cooker hood is su pp lied s p eci f ied f or use in the recircula-
tion mode , w ith the charcoal f ilter f itted .
In the recirculation mode contaminated air is p assed throu g h
the charcoal f ilter to be p uri f ied and recirculated into the kitch-
en throu g h the g rille outlets on either side o f the chimne y.
