CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
General cleaning
•
Disconnect the power plug prior to each cleaning.
•
Attention!
Do not let any water get into the device.
•
Clean the outer casing with a slightly damp cloth.
•
Do not use aggressive, abrasive or corrosive cleaning detergents.
•
Do not use chemicals such as petrol or alcohol to clean the outer casing.
•
When cleaning, be careful not to damage the iPod dock.
Handling the compact disc
•
Although compact discs are made so that they can withstand a certain amount of dust and scratches, you
should still handle them with the same care as you would give normal LPs.
•
Protect compact discs from dust, scratches, etc.
•
Always store compact discs in their corresponding cases when they are not in use.
•
To guarantee excellent sound, wipe off the compact disc now and then with a soft cloth, from the inside to
the outside – not in circular motions. Do not under any circumstance use petrol or paint thinner for cleaning.
•
Only hold the compact disc by its edges!
•
Audio compact disc: Only use compact discs with the adjacent emblem.
•
Do not insert any foreign objects into the CD compartment as they could damage the
inner mechanics.
•
To avoid getting the CD compartment dirty from dust, do not leave the cover open longer
than necessary.
•
Never touch the lens inside the CD compartment.
•
If the compact disc is very dirty or has many fingerprints on it, this could hinder playback
or cause it to start playback in another spot.
•
The digital signals on the compact disc are read by a laser via an optical lens (do not
touch). Condensation could build up on this lens if the player is brought from a cold area
to a warm area or if a cold room is heated up quickly. This condensation could result
in the CD player no longer functioning properly. In this case, we recommend letting the
device acclimatise for approx. 1 hour prior to using it. Remove the CD when doing so. If
the problem has not been solved by doing this, then consult an authorised professional.
