BASIC FUNCTIONS
Turning the device on and off
•
Press the
STANDBY/ON
(31) button to turn on the device. The LCD display (2) will go on and will display
HELLO
briefly. The device will automatically return to the last operating mode selected.
•
In order to turn off the device, press the
STANDBY/ON
button. The device switches automatically to stand-
by mode. The LCD display will display
GOODBYE
briefly and will then display the time. The time must be
pre-programmed otherwise only “--:--“ will be displayed.
Selecting an operating mode
•
Press the
FUNCTION
(24) button in order to select between the operating modes TUNER, CD, USB, CARD,
IPOD or AUX.
A short overview of these modes is listed below:
TUNER
Radio
CD
CD playback
USB
Playback of audio files from USB storage devices
CARD
Playback of audio files from SD/MMC memory cards
IPOD
Playback via an iPod device
AUX
Playback via a playback device connected using a stereo cable (e.g.
MP3 player)
Playback and pause
•
Press the
PLAY/PAUSE
(32) button in order to begin CD, USB, CARD, IPOD or AUX playback. Pressing
this button again will pause playback.
Stop playback
•
Press the
/BAND
(25) button in order to stop CD, USB, CARD, IPOD or AUX playback. In radio mode, this
button can be used to switch between the FM and AM frequencies.
Volume
•
The volume can be regulated with the
VOL+
(27) and
VOL-
(34) buttons.
+
increases the volume and
-
reduces it. Pressing these buttons repeatedly allows you to set the volume from 01 (MIN) to 30 (MAX).
•
Attention!
Too high of a volume can lead to irreparable hearing impairment.
Headphone
•
The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack (21). You can connect most standard earphones or headphones
(not included).
•
If a headphone or earphone plug is connected to the headphone jack, the built-in speakers will automatically
be muted.
•
As soon as the headphone or earphone plug is disconnected, the speakers will be activated.
