Comfort Controller - Cable connection
The control box for the comfort controller is supplied with 5 metres of control cable. Please note that
this is
not suitable for use with main’s electricity
and that, for safety’s sake, any surplus cable
should be disposed of in a manner which prevents its possible use with main’s electricity.
It is not permissible to extend the comfort controller length of cable beyond that which is supplied, as
this will interfere with the satisfactory operation of the controls.
The control cable is suitable to run under the burner floor but must not lie above that level either
inside any firebox or in the immediate vicinity outside any box. If the cable is near to hot surfaces the
insulation may be damaged.
The comfort controller is supplied with a switch box suitable for flush mounting the control panel.
Should this not be possible or desirable, it will be necessary to obtain a surface mounted switch-box
of 40mm min. internal depth.
Unpack the control box and install in the chosen position.
Note
that this must be in a position which
enables the 5m long cable to reach the burner connector.
Where necessary remove any surplus cable, ensuring that you leave enough to prepare the wires in
the form shown in Fig. 13. Feed the cable through the rear or side of the firebox at a height not more
than 30mm above the firebox base. If the holes provided are not suitable for this purpose, a hole
12.7mm diameter should be drilled to accept the grommet. Connect the wires in the order shown by
matching the colour of the wires , except the black which should be matched to the green wire from
the cable.
With the manual gas valve in the OFF
l
position, test the Comfort Controller operation by selecting
the ON, LOW, HIGH and OFF positions. There should be a ‘click’ from beneath the burner floor at
each selection.
Assembly of the Fire Bed
Carefully unpack the fire bed items:
- Rear coal bed and Front coal bed
- Left hand and Right hand side coal support
- Pack of loose coals.
IMPORTANT
Do not use the fire with broken or missing coals. Never add any extra coals above the
number stated in these instructions. This could cause a safety hazard. It is essential that the
coals are laid in accordance with the coal lay diagrams. Only the fuel bed parts supplied with
this appliance or authorised Jetmaster replacements must be used.
