Learning to Use JENFAB Belt Washers
Starting a Coalescing Oil Separator (If Equipped)
If your system includes an optional coalescing oil separator, start
it following these steps.
1.
Ensure drain line valves are closed and inlet and outlet valves
are open.
2.
Fill the inlet-coalescing tank compartments to the overflow
weir with water. Remember to consider the oil separator tank
volume in your chemistry makeup calculations.
3.
For 45- and 65-gallon separators, energize the separator
pump. For the mini 15-gallon oil separator, open the air to the
separator pump. When you start the belt washer, the oil
separator’s feed (or return) pump functions automatically.
4.
Adjust the slotted oil skimmer pipe in the center compartment
by rotating it to desired oil skim level. Moving the slot to the
highest position is a good starting point.
Starting the Disk Oil Separator
If your systems include the optional disk oil separator, start it by
plugging it in. Normally you should leave the disk oil separator
running continuously except for an extended shutdown of the system.
