13.3 BERTHING, ANCHORING, TOWING
13.3.1 Anchor points
Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the owner/user of the boat to ensure that the berthing lines, towing
cables, chains and mooring lines and the anchors are adequate for the intended use of the
boat, i.e. that the lines or chains do not exceed 80 % of the breaking strength of the
corresponding anchor point.
If non-metal anchor points are installed on the boat, their limited lifespan must be taken into
account. They must be replaced as soon as they show signs of deterioration, visible surface
cracks or permanent deformation.
