STORAGE & MAINTENANCE

Cover all external outlets, such as
furnace, exhaust, etc. to prevent mice or
other rodents from entering.
□
Disconnect 120-volt AC power to the RV.
□
Do not use the stabilizing jacks during
storage.
□
Drain all water lines.
□
Drain and flush all holding tanks (fresh
water, grey water, black water and/or hot
water tanks).
□
Remove all batteries from the RV and
store in a place where they won’t freeze.
Batteries that have been frozen will never
hold a proper charge.
□
Thoroughly wash the interior and the
exterior of your RV.
□
Store your RV indoors, under a roof or
consider purchasing a tarp to cover your
RV during storage. Make sure you invest
in a good tarp that can “breathe.
□
To prevent weather checking and other
UV damage, cover tires that are exposed
to sunlight.
During storage period
□
Remove snow loads from your RV to
prevent damage to the unit’s structure.

HECKLIST
This list is a quick reference sheet for
suggested areas of regular maintenance.
Review all OEM manuals supplied with your
RV to perform these listed maintenance
items.
Prior to first trip
□
Check propane lines for leaks.
□
Using a properly calibrated torque wrench,
check wheel lug nuts at specified intervals
to listed torque specifications and re-
torque as needed.
□
Open all windows and the entry door, start
the furnace. Leave the windows and door
open and the furnace ON until the odor
from the initial use of the furnace is fully
dissipated.
□
Sanitize the fresh water system.
□
Test the propane, smoke and carbon
monoxide detectors.
First 200 miles
□
Using a properly calibrated torque wrench,
check wheel lug nuts at specified intervals
to listed torque specifications and re-
torque as needed.
□
Have the brakes adjusted by a qualified
service technician.
Each trip
□
Using a hydrometer to check the
electrolyte level of each battery.
□
Check propane lines for leaks.
□
Check the running lights operate correctly.
□
Check tire pressure and wear. Make sure
the tires are cold when checking the tire
pressure.
□
Flush out the water heater tank.
□
Inspect safety chains for signs of wear. (if
applicable)
□
Test the brakes.
□
Test the propane, smoke and carbon
monoxide detectors.
After every tire change
□
Using a properly calibrated torque wrench,
check wheel lug nuts at specified intervals
to listed torque specifications and re-
torque as needed.
Daily
□
Ensure the propane detector is operating
correctly.
□
Recharge each battery after use.
Excessive snow, 8" or more, or ice, 2" or
more, places excessive weight on the RV
roof. Remove excessive snow or ice as
needed. Care MUST be exercised to not
damage the roof material when removing
snow & ice. Excessive weight can damage
the roof, seals, etc. Water leaks and poor
fit or operation are the results of this
damage. Damage caused by improper
maintenance is not warrantable.
