OPERATION 6
6.1 DAILY INSPECTION ____________________________________________________
1.
Do a visual inspection of the vehicle and look for indication of wear, loose hardware. Check for any
components that are not included on the machine or damaged. Check for fuel and oil leaks to make
sure that all connections are tight. Make sure that all hoses and tubes are in good condition.
2.
Check the fuel supply, radiator coolant level, engine crankcase oil level and air cleaner is clean. All
fluids must be at the full mark with the engine cold.
3.
Check all tyres for the correct pressure.
4.
Do a visual inspection of the flail heads looking for indication of wear on the cutting means and rotor
fastenings. Check the pivot points, fasteners, shafts and pins ensuring that they are installed prior to
using the machine.
5.
Make sure all cutter decks are adjusted to the same height of cut.
6.
Test the operator presence and safety interlock system.
CAUTION
The inspection must be done each day when the engine is turned off and all fluids are cold.
Lower the cutting equipment to the ground, engage the parking brake, stop the engine and
remove the ignition key.
