TROUBLESHOOTING
CAUTION! Switch off and remove plug from mains before investigating fault.
Conventional trouble
Trouble reason
Remedy
Electromotor (4) will not run
∙
Incorrect power supply and/or
wiring. Fault in power line or voltage
insufficient. Undersized wires or
circuits too long.
∙
Fault in the automatic pressure
switch (10) or in the on-off switch
(11).
∙
Thermal protection tripped, e.g.
by insufficient cooling (e.g. vents
(15) covered).
∙
Fault in the electric electromotor
(4).
∙
Check power line for proper
voltage. Check cables, plug, outlet
and mains fuse. Make sure power
is turned on.
∙
Check and repair or replace.
∙
Wait for electromotor (4) to
cool. Free vents (15) if necessary.
∙
Have the machine repaired by
an authorized IVT Service Centre.
Abnormal noise, excessive
vibration, compressor knocks
∙
Compressor not level.
∙
Connecting parts or compressor
valves loose or broken.
∙
(AC-70PB; AC-100PB) Loose
belt (19).
∙
Excessive discharge pressure.
∙
Wrong oil being used.
∙
Non-return valve (31) knocks at
low pressure.
∙
Carbon deposits on pistons or
valves.
∙
Bearing, piston or connecting
rod failure.
∙
Level compressor.
∙
Check, tighten loose
components, replace worn parts.
∙
Check belt (19) tension, adjust.
∙
Reduce operating pressure.
∙
Drain well and replace with
proper oil.
∙
Remove and clean non-return
valve (31).
∙
Clean.
∙
Stop the compressor! Contact
an authorized Service Centre.
Compressor runs, but it does not
build up sufficient pressure
∙
Slide valve (22) of the receiver
(2) leaky.
∙
Non-return valve (31) leaky.
∙
(AC-70PB; AC-100PB) Drive
belt (19) slipping.
∙
Check the condition of the
slide valve (22), tighten it fingertight
or replace if necessary.
∙
Have the non-return valve (31)
serviced by an authorized Service
Centre
∙
Tension the belt (19).
Air tool is not supplied with
sufficient pressure
∙
Pressure reducer (24) not
opened wide enough.
∙
Hose connection between
compressor and air tool leaky.
∙
Pipe connector (8) closed.
∙
Open pressure reducer (24)
more.
∙
Check air hoses, replace
defective parts if necessary.
∙
Check that the tap is open
(where fitted). Check that the
pressure reducer (24) is set to
any value other than 0 (where
applicable).
