SECTION 15
CHASSIS
15 - CHASSIS
Place an appropriate container beneath the
outlet and open the water release valve several
turns. Drain any water deposits from the canister
until clean diesel fuel flows from the valve. Close
valve by hand. Do not over tighten.
Dispose of the drained liquid in an environ-
mentally responsible manner, such as taking to a
waste oil disposal center.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
Refer to your chassis operating guide and
diesel engine manual for information and precau-
tions on filling, servicing and checking the fluid
level.
Do not remove the radiator cap while engine
and radiator are still hot. Always check coolant
level visually at the see-through coolant reser-
voir.
NOTE: Your chassis engine cooling system is
filled with special extended-life coolant
that is not the same as common anti-
freeze available at retail outlets.
The coolant system MUST be refilled or
topped up with the same type of coolant
as equipped to maintain the special long-
life properties.
WINDSHIELD WASHERS AND
WIPERS
See your chassis operating guide for recom-
mendations, precautions and replacement infor-
mation on washers and wipers.
The windshield washer fluid reservoir is locat-
ed in the front of the coach at the right hand side
behind the ‘hood’ panel. A long-necked funnel
may be required for filling. We recommend using
commercially available premixed solutions for
best results. Do not use water in freezing temper-
atures because the washer pump could become
damaged.
Fuel/Water Drain Valve
When refilling the coolant system of
a vehicle equipped with a rear auxil-
iary automotive heater and motoraid
water heater, be sure to allow for
additional coolant capacity of the
heater and its supply and return
hoses.
