2. If necessary, adjust the V-belt tension. Loosen
the adjusting bolt (Figure 5, (1)) and related
bolts and/or nuts, then move the alternator
(Figure 5, (2)) with a pry bar (Figure 5, (3)) to
tighten the V-belt to the desired tension. Then
tighten the adjusting bolts and/or nuts.

3. Tighten the V-belt to the proper tension. There
must be clearance (Figure 6, (1)) between the
V-belt and the bottom of the pulley groove. If
there is no clearance (Figure 6, (2)) between
the V-belt and the bottom of the pulley groove,
replace the V-belt.
