Priority
This page allows you to examine and change the configurations of current STP MSTI bridge instance
priorities.

M STI
The bridge instance. CIST is the default instance, which is always active.
Priority
Indicates bridge priority. The lower the value, the higher th e priority.
The bridge priority, MSTI instance number, and the 6-byte
MAC address of the switch forms a bridge identifier.

CIST
With the ability to cross regional boundaries, CIST is used by MSTP to communicate with other MSTP
regions, and with any RSTP and STP single-instance spanning trees in the network. Any boundary port,
that is, if it is connected to another region, will automatically belong solely to CIST even if it is
assigned to a MSTI. All VLAN’s that are not members of particular MSTI’s are members of the CIST.
