Disconnecting
WARNING
The use of rubber gloves and chemical goggles and face shield is recommended
when working with batteries.
NEVER allow any of your tools and/or battery cable(s) to contact both battery
terminal(s)/post(s) at the same time. An electrical short may occur and serious
personal injury or damage may occur.
1. Remove
the
batteries.
Refer
to
Removing/Installing
the
Batteries
on
page 35.
2. Slide
terminal
caps
up
on
the
battery
cables.
3. Disconnect
the
battery
cables
from
the
battery
terminals
by
remove
the
mounting
bolts
and
locknuts
securing
the
battery
cables
from
battery
terminals:
A. POSITIVE
(+)
RED
battery
cable
from
the
POSITIVE
(+)
battery
terminal.
B. NEGATIVE
(
‐
)
BLACK
battery
cable
from
NEGATIVE
(
‐
)
battery
terminal.
