9.11 Replacing the Chain Guard Cover
XLT, XLT Jr., Excelerator and Li’l Excelerator
1.
Remove the two screws securing the existing chain guard cover to the chain guard mounting bracket.
2.
Remove the screw securing the fork mounting bracket to the chain guard cover.
3.
Remove the existing chain guard cover from the handcycle.
4.
Install the new chain guard cover onto the handcycle.
5.
Secure the bottom of the new chain guard cover to the fork mounting bracket using the existing screw.
6.
Secure the top of the new chain guard cover to the chain guard mounting bracket using the two screws.
This procedure applies Excelerator, Li’l Excelerator, XLT and XLT Jr. handcycles without the mountian bike option.
This procedure is for replacing the chain guard cover only. If the entire chain guard assembly needs to be replaced, special tools are
required. Take the handcycle to a bike repair shop.
