Disassembly and Folding
To enable your chair to be carried in the boot of most cars, pleas follow these instructions:
1.
Remove any accessories that may be fitted to the wheelchair, i.e. tray assembly.
2.
Follow the steps in section 7.5 to remove the armrests. Ensure the controller is unplugged before carrying
out this operation.
3.
Follow the steps in section 7.6 to remove the backrest extension (if fitted).
4.
Follow the steps in section 8.1 to remove the batteries.
5.
Follow the steps in section 7. 8 to remove the leg rests.
6.
To fold the chair, take hold of the seat tube and lift. Your powered wheelchair is now ready to be loaded
safely in a suitable vehicle. Reversing the procedure will make your chair ready for use at your destination.
If your powered wheelchair features a slung seat upholstery assembly, follow the above steps ignoring step 3.
CAUTION: Risk of Injury
Always use correct lifting and carrying techniques to avoid the risk of injuries. If necessary, ask for assistance
when lifting heavy components.
NOTE:
If stored or transported when folded ensure the motor cables are not trapped, or have weight pressing on
them, by inserting a pad or similar item between the motors.
The procedures above require some dexterity and involve lifting of heavy components. It is advisable to ask
for assistance when performing them.
