4. Mounting the Handset
The cord-reel mounting methods for installing the Sigma
7
device are standard cradle installation,
remote retractor reel, and handset with coil cord. The mounting methods on the cradle are described
as follows:
The Sigma
7
cradle is most commonly mounted flush on a convenient surface. The cradle is fastened
with 4 screws into a cut-out in a drink rail drawer or cabinet. The completion center typically selects
the screw size and length required to fasten the cradle. P/N 500088, 6/32 x ¾-inch captive screws
and nuts are included in the cradle assembly. The handset sits in the cradle. See the section, Fits
and Clearances, for a dimensional drawing of the cradle; that drawing should be used to determine
the dimensions of the cutout required to accept the cradle.
Retractor Reel and Handset
may need to be fastened into an enclosure without the cradle or with a
short cradle that does not accommodate fastening of the retractor reel. In this case, the handset is
installed or supported in a custom enclosure or lying loose in a cabinet and the retractor reel is
mounted close but not attached to the cradle.
Note
The mounting screws must not protrude more than 10mm into the
cradle cavity, or damage to the handset may result. The screws
should be of a diameter to fit inside of the holes provided to
accommodate the screws.
