COM/LIM MODE Screen
Pressing the
MODE
key accesses the
COM/LIM MODE
screen, which allows for global
setups for the
COM/LIM
module.
In this screen, parameters are selected with the
and
cursor keys and adjusted
with the parameter wheel. After every change,
ENTER
appears at the
F5
key, and must
be pressed to confirm the change. Default settings can be selected with the
F1
(
DEF
)
key. Pressing the
F6
(
EXIT
) key returns to the
COM/LIM
screen.
Global parameters available in the
COM/LIM MODE
screen are:
CH LINK
determines the channel coupling status:
OFF
selects dual channel mode, with two independent channels.
CH1
→
2
couples the channels with
CH1
slaved to
CH2
.
CH2
→
1
couples the channels with
CH2
slaved to
CH1
.
ST COUPL
couples the limiter in both channels to avoid stereo image jumping.
CEILING
links the threshold (
THR
) and output gain (
GAIN
) parameters so that the
COM/LIM
output remains at the same level independent of the
THR
value.
Useful for finding the maximum degree of compression at a given output
level.
LA DELAY
selects a look-ahead delay time, over a range of 0.2 to 100 ms. Longer
delay times are recommended in most circumstances for cleaner results
when applying heavy compression to low-frequency signals. Use shorter
delay times only if the additional delay caused by the
COM/LIM
module
becomes a timing issue.
ATT COMP
Attack Time Compensation makes certain the compressor/limiter’s attack
phase occurs within the selected look-ahead window. This is useful for a
reliable limiting function. Note that this function limits the upper range of
the attack time parameter (
ATT
) to the value selected in the
LA DELAY
menu.
The default values are:
CH1
→
2, OFF, OFF, 50ms, OFF.
