Syslog
Server
The
system
log
can
be
sent
to
a
server.
Transfer
Logs
Check/uncheck
the
box
to
enable/disable
the
use
of
a
syslog
server,
and
enter
a
hostname,
domain
or
IP
address
for
the
server
consisting
of
up
to
128
alphanumeric
characters.
The
remote
log
function
uses
the
Syslog
Protocol,
which
is
a
standard
for
forwarding
log
messages
in
an
IP
network.
Syslog
is
a
client/server
protocol.
The
Syslog
sender
(the
Network
Camera)
sends
a
small
(less
than
1KB)
textual
message
to
the
Syslog
server.
This
user

shows
one
example
of
a
Syslog
server,
the
3CDaemon
utility
by
