Use the “dot1x initialize privileged” EXEC command on the switch to manually return the specified
802.1X-enabled interface to an unauthorized state before initiating a new authentication session
on the interface.
CLI Syntax: dot1x initialize interface [IFNAME]
Example: (config)# dot1x initialize interface gi1/0/1
2.3.3.24.5 Dot1x Max-Req
Use the dot1x max-req interface configuration command on the switch to set the maximum
number of times that the switch sends an Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)-request/
identity frame (assuming that no response is received) to the client before restarting the
authentication process. Use the “no” form of this command to return to the default setting.
CLI Syntax: dot1x max-req <1-10>
Example: (config)# interface fa1/0/1
(config-if)# dot1x max-req 2

Use the dot1x port-control interface configuration command on the switch to enable manual
control of the authorization state of the port. Use the “no” form of this command to return to the
