Connector, server end: The connector that plugs into the AC receptacle on the server must
be an IEC 320, sheet C19, type female connector.

Cord length and flexibility: Cords must be less than 4.5 meters (14.76 feet) long, and must
be flexible (harmonized

HAR

) cord or VDE-certified cordage to comply with server’s
safety certifications.

NOTES
Surge suppressor recommended: In geographic regions that are
susceptible to electrical storms, we highly recommend that you plug the
server into a surge suppressor.
Install power cord with or without retention mechanism: On the interior
chassis wall beneath the external power connector, three hexagonal pegs
form a retention mechanism. When you route the power cord between the
hexagonal pegs, the cord cannot be pulled accidentally from the back of the
server. We recommend you use the retention mechanism, but you do not
NEED to. To access the retention mechanism, remove the left power supply
(see Chapter 4 in the SRPM8 Server System Product Guide).
