Maintaining the System 

 

69 

12.  At the fan end of the power supply, remove the screw (B) that attaches the power supply to the 

standoff in the chassis floor. 

13.  Lift the fan end of the power supply above the chassis standoff and slide it toward the front of 

the server.  Lift the power supply out of the chassis. 

14.  Place the new power supply in the chassis and slide it to the rear as far as it will go.  
15.  Install the two screws (C) at the rear of the chassis and the one screw (B) at the fan end of the 

power supply. 

16.  Place the power cables in the bundle clip.  
17.  Place the fan assembly in the chassis.  Slide it away from the power supply and under the 

chassis clip.  Install two screws (A) and secure it to the chassis. 

18.  At the server, connect both fans. 
19.  Install a new wire tie on the server board power cables where they pass through the fan 

assembly. 

20.  Connect the power cables that go to the server board, hot swap backplane, CD-ROM drive, and 

peripheral drives. 

21.  Re-connect the power cord to the power cord receptacle and plug the cord back into its power 

source.
