The serial interface (RS232) of the INSYS GSM and the configuration PC are connected for
initial operation and configuration.
For data communication during operation, connect the terminal device with the applica-
tion (e.g. a PLC) via the serial interface with the INSYS GSM (dashed line).

Implementation Overview
The following steps are required for the implementation:
1.
Switch the device on and test it.
2.
Initial configuration using HSComm or
AT
commands.
3.
Insert the SIM card.

Restart

Switch the Device on and Test it
1.
Connect the INSYS GSM and the PC using the serial cable.
2.
Connect the GSM antenna.
3.
Connect the power supply at the terminals 10..60 VDC and GND.
Caution - Damage of components!
The given values are maximum values.
4.
Switch the power supply on.
The LED
Power
will light up.
The INSYS GSM starts the initialization.
1.
LED
Connect
or LED
DCD
light up for approx. 4 seconds.
2.
After 8 more seconds the LED
Status
starts to flash for approx. 20 seconds.
3.
Afterwards, the LED
Status
goes out because no SIM card is inserted and no PIN
is stored.
4.
The LED
Signal
is on or blinks depending on the strength of the GSM network.
The device is operational.
If the INSYS GSM does not perform an initialization or the LED
Power
is not on, refer to
your supplier.
