8-6-1 Switching Application Modes
By default, the device is set to Air Mode and automatically detects and localizes
compressed air leaks. Change the device to Power Mode when attempting to
scan for partial discharges.
Change the application mode as follows:
1.
Using the touchscreen, tap the Settings icon to open the main menu.
2.
Tap Change. The selected mode shows above.
3.
Tap ← to save and exit the menu.
8-6-2 Application Heatmaps
The display window shows the camera image with a heatmap overlay. There are
two different types of color modes for displaying the heatmap:
•
Location Color Mode: shows each sound source with colors ranging from
red to blue. Location color mode is active in the Power application mode.
•
Strength Color Mode: shows each sound source with a single color
according to the intensity of the sound source. The Strength color mode is
active in the Air application mode.
The heatmap also shows the location of the strongest sound source (Single-
source Mode) or multiple sound sources (Multi-source Mode). The location of
the strongest sound source is marked with a small crosshair.

THE USER SHOULD ENSURE THE PROPER MODE IS CHOSEN FOR THE USE
APPLICATION. AIR MODE IS FOR FINDING COMPRESSED AIR LEAKS. POWER
MODE IS FOR FINDING VOLTAGE PARTIAL DISCHARGES.
CHOOSE THE CORRECT SOURCE MODE AND FILTER FOR PROPER DETECTION
OF AIR AND PARTIAL DISCHARGES. SETTING THE DISTANCE IS ALSO
IMPORTANT FOR OBTAINING ACCURATE READINGS.
