a) Select the main menu item [UPLOAD] .
b) Press the button ENTER .
c) For data transmission, press the button
ENTER once again .
4.3 Master/slave mode
Multiple ODP-120/6COL spotlights can be op-
erated in sync . A (master) unit will control all
other (slave) units .
1) Connect the units in a chain . Refer to chapter
4 .4 .1, but skip step 1 .
2) On the master unit, select the desired
operating mode (refer to chapter 4 .2 on
page 16) .
3) Set all slave units to the slave mode:
a) Select the main menu item [RUN MODE] .
b) Press the button ENTER and use the but-
ton UP or DOWN to switch from DMX to
SLAVE .
c) Press the button ENTER to confirm the
setting .

4.4 Operation with a DMX controller
For operation via a DMX light controller (e . g .
DMX-1440 or DMX-510USB from “img Stage
Line”), the ODP-120/6COL is equipped with
13 DMX control channels . It is, however, also
possible to control the spotlight via fewer
channels if the functions of these channels are
sufficient (refer to chapter 5 .1) or if less than
13 channels are available on the light controller .
DMX:

and means digital
control of multiple DMX units via a common control line .
4.4.1 Connection
For DMX signal transmission, special cables
should be used (e . g . cables of the CDMXN-…
series from “img Stage Line”) . For cable lengths
exceeding 150 m and for controlling more than
32 units via a single DMX output, it is generally
recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e . g . SR-103DMX) .
1) Connect the input DMX IN to the DMX out-
put of the light controller or to the DMX out-
put of another DMX-controlled unit .
If the cable DMX IN is not connected to
the XLR plug, connect plug C to inline jack
D (refer to the figure below):

2) If further ODP-120/6COL spotlights are used,
connect the first spotlight via the inline jack
of the cable DMX OUT to the plug of the
cable DMX IN of the second spotlight . Pro-
ceed in the same way to connect the second
spotlight to the third spotlight, etc . until all
spotlights have been connected in a chain .
If the DMX connection cables between
the spotlights are too short, use suitable ex-
tension cables, e . g .
ODP-34DMX
length: 2 m
ODP-34DMX/10 length: 10 m
3) To prevent interference in signal transmission,
in case of long cables or a multitude of units
connected in series, terminate the DMX out-
put of the last DMX unit in the chain with a
120 Ω resistor (> 0 .3 W) .
The easiest way to terminate the DMX
output of a ODP-120/6COL is to separate an
extension cable ODP-34DMX and to connect
the resistor to pins 2 and 3 of the plug . Con-
nect the plug with the resistor to the inline
jack of the cable DMX OUT .
If no terminating resistor is required,
screw the protective cover provided onto
the inline jack of the cable .
