TOWING
Parallel towing (with four wheels of the
towed vehicle left on the ground) Towing
eye is provided at the front and rear of
the vehicle.
The parallel towing at a low speed within
a short distance can be performed if
allowed by the relevant regulations. Turn
the ignition key of the towed vehicle to
position A during the towing to unlock
the direction lock.
Hook a metal bar onto the towing eye as
shown in the diagram above.
Towing when the front or rear of the
vehicle is lifted
Use the special towing device made of
rigid rod and connecting strap.
Fix the hook of the special towing device
onto each suspension arm.
Take all necessary measures to protect
the front and rear bumpers and body
sheet metal from damage.
Note:
In case of front towing, pry up the small
round cover of the front bumper firstly,
and then screw the towing eye, insert
tyre wrench into the towing eye to tighten
the towing eye completely.
Note:
When the vehicle equipped with the
automatic transmission is towed, if the
front wheels are on the ground, the gear
lever should be shifted to Neutral (N)
position.
Because the front wheels will be locked
if the gear lever is at P and the P locking
mechanism of automatic transmission
will be damaged when performing the
towing forcibly as a result. The towing
speed should be less than 50km/h, and
the distance should be less than 50km.
Otherwise, perform towing with the lifted
front wheels.
WARNING
When the engine is shut off, the power
steering and brake booster will not
function any more.
