PCM
PCM is a format to covert an analog sound signal into a
digital signal. It encodes analog signals into digital format
and involves no compression process. The signal
converted by this method is called PCM signal and used
for music CDs and DVDs.
Sampling frequency
Sampling is recording sound waves (analog signals) at
regular intervals and digitalizing the height of the sound
waves.
The number of samples obtained in one second is called
the sampling frequency. As the sampling frequency gets
higher, the sound closer to the original can be
reproduced and higher sound quality can be achieved.
Sound modes
These are the sound modes that are pre-adjusted to the
recommended level to achieve the optimal sound quality.
Users can select their desired sound modes to enjoy
dramas, music and sports programs.
