Object
Description
System PoE Admin Mode
Enables/disables the PoE function, determining whether or not the
PoE ports supply power.
PoE Temperature
Protection
Enables/disables PoE temperature protection.
PoE Management Mode
There are five modes for configuring how the ports/PDs may reserve
power and when to shut down ports.
Classification mode
:
System reserves PoE power to PD according to
PoE class level.
Allocation mode
: allows user to assign PoE power to per port.
Consumption mode
: System offers PoE power according to PD real
power consumption.
Priority mode
: System offers PoE power according to per port priority
setting when power consumption has been over total power budget.
The default PoE management mode is
Consumption mode
.
Power Supply Budget [W]
Sets the limit value of the total PoE port provided power to the PDs.
For NS3562-8P-2S-V2, the available max. value is 240 (depends on
power input).
Temperature Threshold
Sets the temperature protection threshold value. If the system
temperature is over this value, then the system lowers the total PoE
power budget automatically.
PoE Usage Threshold
Sets the PoE power budget limitation.

PD classifications
A PD may be classified by the PSE based on the classification information provided by
the PD. The intent of PD classification is to provide information about the maximum
power required by the PD during operation. The PD provides a signature about Class
level to improve power management at the PSE.
The PD is classified based on power. The classification of the PD is the maximum
power that the PD draws across all input voltages and operational modes.
A PD will return to Class 0 to 4 in accordance with the maximum power draw as
specified below:
