The client Samba file management modalities of use can change from an operating system to
another, but the settings can be summarized as follows:
1. The player needs to be properly connected and accessible through the network. Please refer to
Ethernet Network Connection (page 49) and Ethernet Page of the Web server (Page 81).
2. Open the file manager application of the computer.
3. Select the
Network
section.
4. If necessary, select the Workgroup where the player is networked (by default
WORKGROUP
). To
change the Workgroup, please refer to
Samba
section in Ethernet Page (page 81).
5. To log on to the player, select its NetBIOS name in the list of network devices (e.g.
MMP8B0A
for a
“by default” factory name or
PlayerSMB
for a NetBIOS custom name). To know the NetBIOS name
of the player, please refer to Identify the player on the network of Ethernet Network Connection
(page 50). To change the NetBIOS name, please refer to
Samba
section in Ethernet Page (page
81).
6. Open the network folder

7. In the
Username
field, enter the username of the Samba connection. By default, no username is
defined, it is necessary to add one to use the Samba. To change the username, please refer to
Samba
section in Ethernet Page (page 81).
8. In the
Password
field, enter the password of the Samba connection. By default, no username is
defined, it is necessary to add one to use the Samba. To change the password, please refer to
Samba
section in Ethernet Page (page 81).
9. Log on to the Samba server of the player. The file manager application displays a list of folders that
shows the storage devices plugged to the player. Each folder name is composed of the name of
connector used and a mount point of the storage device on this connector (e.g.
:1.0-scsi-
0:0:0:0-part1
or
:part1
).
1. On the My Music Player, the connector names are:

usb-ext
for the External USB host receptacle.
2.
usb-int
for the Internal USB host receptacle.
3.
sd
for the SD/SDHC memory card slot.
4.
sata-hdd
for the SATA host receptacle
(HW V1.0 only)

2. On the My Music Player LE, the connector name is:
usb

Note:
a malfunction in the Samba server may display incorrect folder names in the file manager.
10. Open the folder name that pertains to the connector used by the Main Media (e.g. :
usb-
int:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0-part1
or
usb:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:0-part1
).
11. Manage the content of the Main Media.
. Using the Embedded FTP Clients in a Synchronization Mode
Description
•
Manage the content of the Main Media over a local or remote network with a FTP synchronization
between the player content and a server content. The FTP synchronization are called manually or
scheduled with the use of a timestamped programming.
Embedded FTP Clients in Synchronization Mode

A server computer with a FTP server software.
•
A LAN (Local Area Network) access to the player and to the server computer, for the local
