Confirm IP Address via Command Line
Ping is an application that runs in Microsoft Windows and is a very useful tool for helping to diagnose an IP
address related issue. It can be used to test a connection with the PostX Module. The following instructions
detail how to ping a device:
1.
Open a command prompt (Click Start->Run, then type "cmd" into this window and click "OK").
2.
Type
ping
192.168.1.2
into the command prompt and press ENTER.
3.
Wait for the command prompt to respond. The first of the images below shows a ping attempt where the IP
address was not found. The second image shows a successful ping attempt where the IP address was
found.
