USE

Selecting the Correct Size:

In order to ensure you choose the correct size Stryker Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee Armor please
see the tables below

Stryker Knee Armor – Note: The protectors for the right and left knees are not interchangeable.
The protector for the right knee is identified with the symbol “R” on a tag at the top edge of the
protector and the protector for the left knee is identified with the symbol “L”. Before putting the
protectors on and adjusting them, be sure that you have identified the correct protector.

• Undo the hook and loop fastener on the adjustment straps. Position the armor over the knee

with the Icon logo centered over the knee cap, The adjustment straps should be hanging to the
outside of the shin. One at a time, making sure the adjustment straps are not twisted or crossed,
bring each strap behind the calf, and towards the inside of the leg, wrapping around to the front
of the shin. Then firmly press the loose end of the hook and loop fastener on the adjustment
strap onto the hook and loop fastener on the knee armor itself.

• Confirm adjustment straps have the length necessary to tighten or loosen, and adjust to assure

the correct fit. Be sure that the Stryker Knee Armor fits snugly but not too tightly and will not
move out of position too easily. If, when positioned and adjusted correctly, the adjustment
strap is too long, it may be shortened by cutting along the gray dashed lines indicated by the
scissors pictograms. The adjustment straps may only be trimmed by cutting on these lines. Do
not cut the adjustment straps in any other location. Be sure to leave enough of the hook and
loop fastener to assure that the adjustment straps fasten well. If you have put the protectors on
and adjusted them according to the instructions above, and the adjustment strap is too short to
allow at least 3.5 cm of the loose end of the adjustment strap with the hook and loop fastener
to be used to fasten the adjustment strap. Do not use the protectors.

If you are unable to find a proper fit in these impact protector styles, please try another Icon
impact armor style. For maximum protection and safety the Stryker Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee
Armor should not cause any discomfort and should not reduce the rider’s freedom of movement
or restrict the reach to, or operation of, the motorcycle controls, while in a normal riding position.

Protector Position and Fit:

Impact protector fit is very important. The fit of different impact protector styles varies due
to differences in design and construction. Only use impact protectors that fit properly. Any
impact protector that does not fit properly should not be used. For impact protectors to offer the
maximum protection possible they must be placed on the area to be protected and they must
cover the protected area effectively. If the impact protectors are already incorporated into the a
suit, jacket, or shirt and are fitted to it by means of stitching or zippers, or are placed in special
pockets, then for them to be positioned correctly, the impact protectors must be the correct size.
If the protectors come with independent supports, and are not incorporated into a garment, then
to be positioned correctly, the shape of the protectors and the shape of the protected areas have
to fit together well. In all cases, the proper equipment has been supplied to keep these impact
protectors firmly in contact with the body. The protectors must be worn under the rider’s clothing
to guarantee they remain in place, covering the protected area. Always be sure that the impact
protectors fit snugly but not too tightly. Confirm adjustment straps have the length necessary to
tighten and loosen, assuring correct fit.

Wearing Instructions and Adjustment:

Stryker Elbow Armor – Note: The Stryker Elbow protector is available in 2 sizes based on the
circumference of the arm. Be sure that you have selected the correct size according to the sizing
chart above.

• Undo the hook and loop fastener on the adjustment strap and add slack to the strap. With the

armor positioned to the outside of the arm and the end of the protector without the adjustment
strap pointing towards the hand, starting at the end with the adjustment strap, slide the hand
first through adjustment strap, then the middle sleeve, and then through the sleeve at the far
end towards the hand. Make sure that the protector is in the correct position with the strap
around the bicep, the middle sleeve at the inside of the elbow, and the end sleeve over the
forearm. The Icon logo on the middle protector piece should be over the point of the elbow.

• Confirm that adjustment strap is running over the bicep and through the rectangular ring, then

fold it back over itself and press firmly to fasten the hook and loop fastener. Confirm adjustment
strap has the length necessary to tighten or loosen, and adjust to assure the correct fit. Be sure
that the Stryker Elbow Armor fits snugly but not too tightly and will not move out of position
too easily. If, when positioned and adjusted correctly, the adjustment strap is too long, it may
be shortened by cutting along the gray dashed lines indicated by the scissors pictograms. The
adjustment strap may only be trimmed by cutting on these lines. Do not cut the adjustment
strap in any other location. Be sure to leave enough of the hook and loop fastener to assure
that the adjustment strap fastens well. If you have put the protectors on and adjusted them
according to the instructions above, and the adjustment strap is too short to allow at least 3.5
cm of the loose end of the adjustment strap with the hook and loop fastener to be used to fasten
the adjustment strap. Do not use the protectors.

SAFETY INSPECTIONS AND OBSOLESCENCE:
