3-1 Checking the PC Card Driver

Restrictions
The following restrictions apply when using the SL‑1105 with
Windows 98:
The SL‑1105 will not operate unless there is an available IRQ (sharing of
an IRQ is not allowed). Secure an IRQ before installing the LAN card driver.
If you do not know how to secure an IRQ, consult with the manufacturer of
the computer you are using.

Before the wireless LAN card driver can be installed, the 32-bit PC card driver must
be installed correctly.

Checking the 32‑bit PC card driver
1.
Boot up the computer with which you will use the SL-1105.
2.
Click <Start>and select [Control Panel] from the <Settings> menu.
3.
Click the [System] icon on the {Control Panel} screen.
4.
Select the [Performance] tab.
Make sure {32-bit} is shown next to [PC Cards (PCMCIA)].

If {MS-DOS compatible mode} or {Not installed} is shown, install the 32-bit PC
card driver for Windows 98.
