c. Take the battery retention clip and place it underneath the other tab while
pressing release tab toward the front of the server; then, press it down until
it snaps in place to hold the battery carrier firmly in place.
If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now. Otherwise, go to
“Completing the installation.”
Completing the installation
To complete the installation, complete the following steps:
1. If you removed any air baffles, reinstall them (see “Replacing the DIMM air
baffle” and “Replacing the microprocessor 2 air baffle” on page 104).
2. If you removed the server cover, replace it (see “Replacing the cover” on page
105).
3. Install the server in the rack cabinet (see the
Rack Installation Instructions
that
come with the server for instructions).
4. Reconnect the cables and power cords (see “Connecting the cables” on page
105).
5. Update the server configuration (see “Updating the server configuration” on
page 106).
6. Slide the server back into the rack, if necessary.
7. Start the server. Confirm that it starts correctly and recognizes the newly
installed devices, and make sure that no error LEDs are lit.
8. (IBM Business Partners only) Complete the additional steps in “Instructions for
IBM Business Partners” on page 35.
Replacing the DIMM air baffle
To install the DIMM air baffle, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 44.
