Choosing TCP/IP Setup Options
The following table summarizes TCP/IP network setup options and their
network and operating system implications.

Windows NT
Select YES if you will use TCP/IP to
connect an NT server or workstation to
the printer.

IP Address
Enter an IP
address for the
printer.
Notes
• Use the Menu Scrolling push buttons
to enter each character of the IP
address exactly.
• Obtain the IP address from the AIX
or TCP/IP administrator for your site.
Subnet Mask
255.0.0.0
(default)
Leave default
or enter a
selection.
Notes
• If your network uses a subnet mask,
use the Menu scrolling push buttons
to enter each character exactly.
• If your network does not use a
subnet mask, leave the default of
255.0.0.0
• Obtain the subnet mask from the AIX
or TCP/IP administrator for your site.
Gateway Address
Leave blank or
enter a
selection.
Notes
• If your network uses gateways, use
the Menu Scrolling push buttons to
enter each character of the gateway
address exactly.
• If your network does not use
gateways, leave blank.
• Obtain the gateway address from the
AIX or TCP/IP administrator for your
site.
