Choosing System Setup Options
Use the information in this section to set the printer name, date, time, printer
password, and power savings timer.
For instructions on accessing the System Setup menu, refer to “Accessing
and Reviewing the Setup Menus” on page 6–3.

If you have more than one
IBM Network Color Printer
on your network and there
are any AppleTalk users, it
is very important that you
give each printer a unique
name.
Descriptive names are
best.
Macintosh
Macintosh and other
AppleTalk users will see
this name for each enabled
printer queue.
For example:
IBMnetcolor_Print
IBMnetcolor_Direct
IBMnetcolor_Hold
To avoid confusion It is
very important that each
IBM Network Color Printer
on your network have a
unique name.
Windows NT
• If you use AppleTalk to
connect to the printer
you will see this name
for each enabled
printer queue. See the
Macintosh column.
• If you use TCP/IP to
connect to the printer,
ignore this setting.
IBMnetcolor
(default)
Specify a name
for your printer.
TCP/IP
This name does not apply
to TCP/IP printing.
You will always use the
queue names:
ibmcolor_print
ibmcolor_direct
ibmcolor_hold
Date
Notes
The printer uses the date
