Place the PCIe riser on the ESD mat on the table.

Depending on the size of the PCIe adapter, remove one or both fillers from the carrier. See Figure 40.
Option
Description
For a single-wide adapter
Remove the filler over the PCIe slot. For a single-wide
adapter, one of the fillers must remain in place to ensure
proper airflow and cooling.
For a double-wide adapter
Remove both fillers.

If needed, label and remove any plugs that extend out of the PCIe adapter.
6.
Insert the card into the PCIe riser, aligning it properly and inserting it fully into the slot. See Figure 41
on page 36.
