ServeRAID-MR10M
SAS/SATA Controller
Characteristics
This chapter describes the characteristics of the ServeRAID-MR10M
SAS/SATA Controller. It consists of the following sections:
•
Section 3.1, “ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller”
•
Section 3.2, “ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller
Characteristics”
•
Section 3.3, “Technical Specifications”
3.1
ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller
The ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller is a dual PHY, SAS
PCI Express adapter and is used in a system with a PCI Express slot
.
PCI Express goes beyond the PCI specification in that it is intended as
a unifying I/O architecture for various systems: desktops, workstations,
mobile, server,
communications, and embedded devices.
The ServeRAID-MR10M controller has one LSISAS1078 ROC (RAID-on-
chip) processor that controls eight external SAS/SATA ports through two
x4 SAS external connectors.
