Step 2. Turn off the Power to the System
Review all safety information provided with the computer; then,
turn off the power to the computer, unplug the power cords
from the power supplies, disconnect the computer from the
network, and remove the computer cover. See the
documentation provided with the computer for instructions.
Before you install the controller, make sure that the computer
is disconnected from the power and from any networks.
Step 3. Review the ServeRAID-MR10M Controller Connectors
Refer to
Chapter 3, “ServeRAID-MR10M SAS/SATA Controller
for a diagram of the ServeRAID-MR10M
controller with its connectors.
Step 4. Review the Controller Limitations
Review
Section 1.2.1, “Controller Limitations”
before you install
the controller in the system.
Step 5. Check the Intelligent Battery Backup Unit
Make sure that the iBBU is present.
Step 6. Install the ServeRAID-MR10M Controller
Select a PCI Express slot and align the controller’s PCI
Express bus connector to the slot. Press down gently but firmly
to ensure that the card is properly seated in the slot. Secure
the bracket to the computer chassis.

Note:
Some PCI-E slots support PCI-E graphics cards only. If a
RAID controller is installed one of those slots, the controller
will not function.
