Defining Agent Interfaces (Networking Policy)
Introduction
Use the Networking policy to reconfigure the network configuration settings for the
management and scanning network interfaces and for the DNS servers and search paths.
Configuring the
management
network interface
To configure the management interface:
1. In the SiteProtector Console, set up a tab to display agent policies. (See page 74.)
2. On the navigation pane, expand the Enterprise Scanner agent.
3. Select the Networking policy for the agent, and then select the
Management Interface
tab.
4. Configure the management network interface as follows:

interface
To configure the scanning interface:
1. In the SiteProtector Console, set up a tab to display agent policies. (See page 74.)
2. On the navigation pane, expand the Enterprise Scanner agent.
3. Select the Networking policy for the agent, and then select the
Scan Interface
tab.
4. Configure the scanning network interface as follows:

servers and search
paths
To configure DNS servers and search paths:
1. In the SiteProtector Console, set up a tab to display agent policies. (See page 74.)
2. On the navigation pane, expand the Enterprise Scanner agent.
3. Select the Networking policy for the agent, and then select the
DNS
tab.
4. Configure the DNS servers and search paths as follows:
Field
Description
Host Name
The fully qualified domain name for the Enterprise Scanner agent.
IP Address
The IP address for the management network interface that connects to
SiteProtector.
Subnet Mask
The subnet mask for the management network interface that connects to
SiteProtector.
Gateway
The address of the network gateway.
Field
Description
IP Address
The IP address for the scanning network interface.
Subnet Mask
The IP address for the scanning network interface
Gateway
The address of the network gateway.
Field
Description
Primary DNS Server
The primary nameserver to use for resolving DNS names.
Secondary DNS Server
The secondary nameserver to use for resolving DNS names.
