Chapter 3. Installing Options on the System Board
Note:
Because most components on the system board are the same in both the
3-bay design and the 4-bay design, the procedures in this chapter apply to
both designs.
This chapter provides information about the following system board options:
System memory
Video memory
L2 cache
Microprocessor upgrade
Before you begin
Before you install, remove, or replace any option, always do the following:
Read “Electrical Safety” on page 3 and “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices”
on page 4.
Read the instructions that come with the option you want to install or
replace.
Turn off the computer and all other connected devices.
Disconnect all external cables and power cords.
