The ESS has four host adapter bays. Each bay supports up to four host adapters.
Each ESS supports 32 SCSI ports, 16 fibre-channel ports, or 32 ESCON channel
ports or any combination of SCSI, fibre-channel, and ESCON connections. The
ESS supports up to a total of 32 physical ports (16 host system adapters).
